Bollywood Fever - Parineeta
Yep, I'm still loving my Hindi movies. Actually I don't think that will be going away for awhile, I think my ancestry is catching up with me. This weeks feature is Parineeta. It is a wonderfully shot film starring Saif Ali Khan and the beautiful Vidya Balan. This story starts with two childhood friends who grow to love each but are challenged by family treachery, loss and deception.

10 Camelia Way Has A New Look!
I realized some time ago that I had to update the look of my shop 10 Camelia Way. This is my shop on Etsy where I have all my Jane Austen inspired gifts. For the last couple of weeks I have been styling and shooting photographs, rewriting descriptions on items, re-tagging items and redesigning the masthead. I wish I could tell you it's complete but of course it is a work in progress. There are still tweaks to be made and items to be added. However, I am now ready to share the results. Let me know what you think.

North and South...What Took Me Soooo Long??
How has it taken me so long to find out about Elizabeth Gaskell's North and South? Images are from the BBC 2004 miniseries. I was puttering about on Netflix one day. Saw it and passed it up then stopped at it again and decided to watch. What a great story! A story about love and pride and prejudice (sound familiar austenites) is woven into more serious social conflict brought about by the industrial revolution. Daniela Denby-Ashe stars as Margaret Hale who is uprooted from a delicate Southern village to live in a cold manufacturing town where she becomes acquainted with Mr. Thornton a master of a manufacturing plant played by Richard Armitage. Sinead Cusack plays the unbreakable Hannah Thornton and a familiar face from Downton Abbey, Brendan Coyle plays Nicholas Higgins a rebellious worker. When you have time this is definitely worth the watch.

A Matchmaker Called Emma!
I have finally added new Jane Austen prints to my shop 10 Camelia Way. Yes, I have delved into the realm of the ultimate matchmaker Jane Austen's Emma. Also, I have added another dimension to my prints, and that is the Georgian pattern behind the characters. I hope you like them. What are some of your favorite Emma quotes?

Bollywood Marathon
Soooo...My husband and I spent our weekend, when we weren't running up and down with the kids, watching Indian movies. On Friday I found this wonderful movie called Laaga Chunari Mein Daag: Journey of a Woman. It was funny, heart wrenching and romantic. Its a wonderfully woven story about love of family, sacrifice and growth. It stars Rani Mukerji as Badki, Konkona Sen Sharma as Chutki, Jaya Bachchan, as Shabitri, Abhishek Bachchan as Rohan and Kunal Kapoor as Vivaan. The movie like most Indian movies, is a treat to the senses. The music, the colors, the emotion leaves you wanting more. Oh, and did I mention the word "sensual"? I would say this is a feeling that runs through most of the movies we watched this weekend. Curtains will be flowing slowly in the wind and you're thinking "wow". All in all it was a treat. If you have a chance you should check it out.

She has great healthy ideas for breakfast and brunch and they are delicious! How do I know? I've had that little blackberry and cherry bar above and it was SCRUMPTIOUS!!! Link here for the recipe. Enjoy!

Happy Valentines Day To My First Love
I can't think of a more appropriate time to write about the first love of my life – my dad. His name was Gordon. He was a really great guy who marched to the beat of his own drum. He was funny and scarily intelligent. Our home was filled with philosophy and history books. He cursed like a sailor, not because of a limited vocabulary, but because he liked it! He treated people with respect regardless of who they were or where they came from. My guy friends used to come and visit us not to see me but to sit down and have debates with my dad. He was just that kind of guy. He wasn't perfect by any means but he was always there for his kids. And look he was already treating me like a queen at 3 months old. I mean what more could a girl want?
Love you dad. Happy Valentines Day.
